Call for Applications! Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPHA) Training of Trainers (ToT)

The Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA), in collaboration with the Türkiye Earthquake Response Child Protection sub-Sector, the Child Protection Area of Responsibility (AoR) for North West Syria, and the Alliance for CPHA, invites applications for the CPHA Training of Trainer for Türkiye and North West Syria Earthquake response.

Needs for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action training have been highlighted by learning needs analysis conducted in the response. Through a CPHA ToT programme we hope to reach a wide number of practitioners through the initial ToT followed by a series of supported capacity sharing actions, maximising the impact and reach of the initiative.

What will you learn?

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the objectives and audience of at least 3 Alliance CPHA learning packages
  • Demonstrate how to effectively facilitate a participatory learning exercise
  • Reflect on their strengths as a facilitator and areas for ongoing improvement
  • Identify the next steps to adapt and plan a CPHA training in their own context
  • Recall where to find Alliance learning resources and support

Who is this programme for?

The target audience includes Child Protection practitioners from local, international and government agencies involved in the response to the earthquake that affected Türkiye and North West Syria. Practitioners should have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in child protection and child protection in humanitarian action programming, an understanding of the Minimum Standards (MS) for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, have a working knowledge of English and play a role in capacity strengthening of their own teams, partners or sectorally.

The Learning package is designed to contribute to strengthening the capacity of practitioners in attaining Level 2 and 3 of the CPHA Competency Framework. Typically participants to this course could include: child protection managers, coordinators, advisors, trainers from local, national and international organisations as well as UN agencies, government officials who play a critical role in preparing for, or carrying out/coordinating CPHA responses.

Participants who successfully complete the ToT will be considered CPHA Trainers, and will be invited to join the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action’s trainer network, workshops & mailing list.
