World Children’s Day occurs annually on November 20th and we, the humanitarian community, are celebrating 2.2 billion children around the globe. This year, the COVID-19 pandemic created unprecedented challenges for children and has resulted in a child rights crisis. In all corners of the world, children face increased risks of hunger, poverty, violence, neglect and psychosocial distress, along with loss of education, community support and protection. But, in these hard times, children and adolescents remain resilient! It is time to unite as a humanitarian community and cooperate across sectors to protect children. A generation’s well-being depends on it! We can rise to this challenge - we can do it together!
